The meadows of East Tirol are famous for their flowers in spring and summer, so it makes a nice change to see them from a different perspective in winter. This hike starts in Kartitsch and leads to St. Oswald, the sunniest village in the Hochpustertal Valley. It is just 2km in length but offers fabulous views of the surrounding mountains. Who knows, maybe it is already warm enough to sit outside on the terrace of the Gasthof Dorfberg overlooking the Burg Heinfels castle in the valley below.

Trail description
The hike starts at the Gemeindehaus (local authority building) in Kartitsch. After walking towards Sillian for a few minutes, hikers then branch off right at the Hotel Sonnblick. The tarmac trail continues for a few hundred metres before ending at the last farmhouse. Follow the meadow trail in a westerly direction, passing sections of forest, before crossing a small stream and reaching St. Oswald.
