The Kelchsau area in the Kitzbühel Alps has many beautiful winter hikes. This one leads along the Kelchsauer Ache river into the valley. The hilly landscape, where cows graze in summer, is a winter wonderland during the cold months of the year. Even then there are plenty of animals such as chamois and deer which can be seen foraging for food. At the end of the Kurzer Grund, a small side valley, is the Gasthof Wegscheid serving hearty food from the local region.
