Kitzbüheler Horn, Wilder Kaiser, Hahnenkamm, Rauher Kopf and Gaisberg – those are the names of the majestic mountains which hikers pass during this easy hike along trail number 4. Further highlights along the way include a number of traditional farmhouses, photos of which often feature in calendars. Next to the highest of these farmhouses is a huge block of granite from the Ice Age. This trail also offers fine views of the Großer Rettenstein on clear days..

Trail description
The hike begins at the tourist information office in Oberndorf. After passing the Hotel Lindner, continue straight on towards Grutten and over a small hill to the hamlet of Holztratt. At the end of this small settlement the typically hilly landscape of Bichlach begins. After passing the highest of the farmsteads, the "Gruttenbauern", the trail continues towards Brandl and then down to Oberndorf, past a spectacular rockfall and the settlement of Schmiedboden. Stay left and follow the road (on the pavement) for a few minutes. Finally, turn left into Oberndorf and walk back to the starting point in the centre of the village.
