This romantic winter hike leads into the Falzthurntal Valley at the entrance to the Karwendel Nature Park. With a little luck you may even see chamoix foraging for food on the snow-covered mountain slopes. Hikers themselves have it a lot easier - there are plenty of huts serving food and drink along the way. The walk ends at the Gramaialm at the foot of the Sonnjoch mountain, whose summit reaches an impressive 2457 metres.

Trail description
The hike starts at the car park in Pertisau am Achensee. There are three different options, with the left-hand trail leading into the Falzthurntal Valley. Most of the hike is slightly uphill all the way to the Gramaialm hut at the end of the valley. It takes around two hours to walk from the car park to the hut. Return along the same path back to the starting point.
Food & drink: One of the most traditional huts along the way is the Sennhütte Falzthurn, where visitors can enjoy Tyrolean specialities such as "Tiroler Gröstl" and "Kasspatzln". Just a stone's throw from the Sennhütte Falzthurn is the Alpengasthaus Falzturn, which specialises in game dishes. Last but by no means least is the Alpengenusshof Gramaialm with its cosy tiled oven and sweet treats such as "Germknödel" and "Kaiserschmarrn".
