Trailrunning


Tirol is a wonderful place for trailrunning offering a dense network of trails with fabulous views. Beginners can attend one of the local trailrunning camps, while experienced runners will find many races and competitions.

Trailrunning, as the name suggests, is all about leaving the tarmac behind and heading into nature. This sport is excellent for training coordination, fitness and fast reactions as runners make their way through forests and meadows. Tirol's wonderful mountain landscape with its lush pastures, traditional huts, craggy peaks and rushing streams provides the perfect backdrop. From easy recovery runs in the valley to tough climbs high in the mountains, the region has something for runners of all experience and fitness levels.

Where To Go Trailrunning?

Tirol's top trailrunning regions include Innsbruck and its Holiday Villages, the Stubai Valley, the Pitztal Valley, the Ötztal Valley, the Wilder Kaiser Mountains and the area around Imst. Each region has its own character and a wide range of trails catering to all levels of experience and fitness.
