Piste tours in the Hochfügen ski resort

Pfaffenbühel (intermediate)

Ski touring enthusiasts have two options to choose from in the ski resort of Hochfügen. One of them begins at the bottom of the Pfaffenbühel draglift. It leads along blue pistes up to the top of the Waidoffen chairlift at 2,310m. This route is easy to ascend but quite long with over 800 vertical metres of climbing. A small diversion next to the piste makes it possible to avoid the steepest section. There is no hut serving food and drink at the top, but you can ski down along piste number 11 to the 8er-Alm hut at the top of the 8er Jet cable car.

Holzalm (intermediate)

The second on-piste ski tour in Hochfügen leads up via the Holzalm hut. It contains two relatively steep sections next to the piste, though the majority of the route is on a wide trail through the forest. The ski tour concludes at the top of the Zillertal Shuttle cable car at 2,501 metres above sea level on the Marchkopf mountain (2,994 metres) where the three municipalities of Zellberg, Hippach and Fügenberg converge. The tour begins at the bottom of the six-man Holzalm chairlift. From bottom to top there are 900 vertical metres to climb. However, the views of the Tux Alps make the effort well worth it.
