The ski resort of Axamer Lizum near Innsbruck has a range of ski touring routes and is also open on certain evenings throughout the season.
Hoadl-Haus via Olympic women's downhill slope (easy)
With its large terrace, abundance of deckchairs and hearty local food, the Hoadl-Haus at 2,340 metres above sea level is the perfect place to finish this easy ski tour. The adventure begins at the large car park at the bottom of the ski lifts. The route is relatively easy and leads along the piste used for the Women's Downhill at the 1976 Winter Olympics. From the starting point, head in a south-westerly direction past a reservoir and up a steep slope into an area known as the Lizumer Grube. Before the final section up to the Hoadl-Haus you can stop for a rest at the Dohlennest hut. Enjoy the fabulous views up at the top before descending along one of several pistes available back down to the bottom of the resort.

Sunnalm hut via Olympic men's GS slope
The Sunnalm is a small, cosy hut in the Axamer Lizum ski resort, located in the heart of the Stubai Alps. This ski tour leads up along the slope used for the Giant Slalom at the 1976 Winter Olympics. The route is easy and can be completed in around 1.5 hours. It starts at the car park at the bottom of the Schönbodenbahn cable car. From there, head west along piste no. 4. After 2.4 kilometres and 495 vertical metres you will reach the hut. The hut is located between the Schönbodenbahn and Karleitenbahn lifts. It is a good spot from which to watch the freestylers perfecting their tricks in the Golden Roof Funpark.
