Skiers and snowboarders access the Tannheim ski resort using the Neunerköpfl cable car which tops out at over 1,800m. Up at the top they can look forward to magnificent views of the Tannheimer Tal Valley as well as lots of easy and intermediate slopes plus one black slope for advanced skiers. One of the best runs in the resort is the 3.5km red piste down to Tannheim. Young skiers and boarders can take their first tentative turns on snow at the Gigge-Hi beginners' area featuring larger-than-life animals from the film Ice Age.
