Accessible via the Kaunertal Glacier Road, the Karlesjochbahn cable car transport visitors to over 3,000 metres above sea level and a world of permanent ice, even in the summer months. Just 300 metres from the restaurant is a crevasse large enough to walk into, while the viewing platform (wheelchair accessible) offers breathtaking views of this region where Italy, Switzerland and Austria converge.
