The Glungezerbahn lifts transports guests up to the mid-way and top station of the Glungezer ski resort in summer, where not only spectacular views but also plenty of hiking trails await. At the mid-way station there is the Erlebniswelt Kugelwald, an adventure park with plenty to see and do for children. The famous Zirbenweg Trail connects the Glungezer mountain with the nearby Patscherkofel mountain to the south of Innsbruck and leads through the highest botanic garden in Europe. Those with a head for heights can scale the summit of the Glungezer mountain at 2,678 metres. There are a number of traditional mountain huts, such as the Tulfein-Alm and the Glungezerhütte, serving hearty food from the region.
