Finkenberger Almbahnen

This ten-man cable car transports passengers from Finkenberg up to the Penkenjoch ridge at 1,760m with its fabulous views of the Zillertal Alps and the mighty Hintertux Glacier. Hikers and mountainbikers will find plenty of trails to keep them busy, including an excellent walking route around the reservoir and a visit to the Capella Granata. This modern chapel built in the form of a block of granite, a type of rock commonly found in the Zillertal Valley, is a good place to sit down and reflect quietly for a few moments. Children will love Pepis Kinderland with its airbags, sand play area, fun balancing trails and huge 8m bear carved out of wood and lovingly known as "Penkenpepi". This giant bear is not just impressive to look at but also invites children to walk in and play inside.
