The "Zahmer Kaiser", which translates as "Tame Emperor", is the smaller and less well-known brother of the "Wilder Kaiser" ("Wild Emperor"). It is home to the Vorderkaiserfeldenhütte, a mountain hut offering wonderful views of the Inn Valley, the Wilder Kaiser Mountains and the Zillertal Alps as well as the Wendelstein Mountains. The traditional wood-panelled dining rooms and sunny terrace make the hut ideal for families. Rock climbers will find plenty of pitches to explore, with difficult ratings stretching from easy to extreme. Many of the hikes can be completed all year round. There is also snowshoeing and tobogganing in winter.
