Jagged mountain peaks and gently rolling pastures surround the Verpeilhütte in the Verpeiltal Valley, a mountain hut within the borders of the Kaunergrat Nature Park. A place of tranquillity and power as well as a source of energy, the Verpeilhütte offers a wide choice of traditional cuisine made using regional products. “Hüttengröstl” (sautéed potatoes with meat and egg), “Kaspressknödelsuppe” (cheese and potato dumpling soup), “Kaiserschmarren” (sweet, chopped pancake) and “Knödelteller” (dumpling dishes) taste fabulous. There is even homemade granola at the breakfast buffet. The Verpeilhütte is located along a beautiful section of the E5 long-distance hiking trail. Thanks to its easy accessibility, it is also a popular destination for families and overnight stays. Children in particular like to play near the rushing stream that flows past the front of the hut.
How to get to the Verpeilhütte
