Family-friendly hut in an area of outstanding natural beauty
German Alpine Club, Ebersberg-Grafing Division
Although the Meißner Haus has been part of the German Alpine Club, Ebersberg-Grafing Division for decades, it was built in 1926 by the Meißner Division in Saxony. The tiled stoves covered with genuine Meissen porcelain still bear witness to this today. They are located in the cosy, originally preserved Swiss stone pine rooms. The refuge lies in the Viggar Valley in the shadow of the Glungezer and Patscherkofel, Innsbruck's local mountain. The town pulsates on the other side of the mountain ridge, so that it does not disturb the peaceful peace of the valley with its flower-filled alpine meadows in any way. The area with the Patscherkofel-Zirmberg landscape conservation area, the Zirbenweg (Swiss stone pine path) high up on the mountain ridge, the blue lakes in the Seegrube and the numerous, fairly easy to climb mountain peaks is ideal for hiking tours with the whole family. In the mattress and room camps of the Meißner Haus there is room for a total of 69 people. Since its renovation in 2015, it also offers a fully equipped seminar room.
