Lush meadows, traditional huts, rushing rivers and waterfalls, steep rock faces and glistening glaciers – those are the highlights which await visitors to the alpine village of Innergschlöss in the Hohe Tauern Nature Park. The settlment lies at the foot of the Großvenediger, one of Austria's highest mountains, and is the perfect starting point for experienced mountaineers wishing to explore the surrounding peaks. The Innergschlöss-Alm is a small self-catering hut sleeping six people. It is close to the Venedigerhaus, a larger hut where food and drink are served. The Innergschlöss-Alm is open from mid-May until the end of October. It has a sleeping area upstairs and a living/cooking area downstairs with a wood-burning oven, cutlery and crockery. There is also a WC. Lighting is provided using solar power. Some of the best trails in the area include the "Gletscherpfad" ("Glacier Trail") and the "Ochsenweg" ("Ox Trail").
