The Hochwildehaus (2,885 metres) is a mountain hut in the Ötztal Alps located high on the Gurgler Ferner glacier. The hut is currently closed; emergency accommodation can be found at the Fidelitashütte. A good alternative to the Hochwildehaus is the Langtalereckhütte.

Important information!
Due to irreparable damage, the Hochwildehaus will remain closed for the forseeable future. A good alternative is the Langtalereckhütte. All walks and hikes listed below can also be completed from this hut. It takes 1.5 hours longer to walk up to the Langtalereckhütte and 1 hour longer to walk down compared with the Hochwildehaus. Just a few metres from the Hochwildehaus is the Fidelitashütte, a self-catering hut sleeping 12 guests. It currently serves as an emergency shelter for hikers (sudden bad weather or exhaustion).
