Cosy self-catering hut in Innervillgraten
South Tyrol Alpine Club
The charming mountain village of Innervillgraten surrounded by lush meadows and mighty peaks is the location of the cosy Friedl-Mutschlechner-Haus, a self-catering hut where families and groups of friends can set up their base for exploring the Villgratental Valley. There is no food or drink at the hut itself, but there are shops in the village where provisions can be purchased. This former farmhouse was renovated by the South Tyrol Alpine Club between 2000 and 2004. Today it offers 42 sleeping places in a combination of rooms and a dormitory-style room with matresses next to each other. Facilities include heating, electricity, WCs/showers, a cooking area and a recreation room. The Villgratental Valley is known for absolute peace and quiet combined with wonderful untouched nature. The hut takes its name from Friedl Mutschlechner, a famous mountaineer from the small town of Brunico in South Tyrol, who died in 1991 on the Manaslu mountain during a climbing expedition in the Himalayas.
