This 20km hike of intermediate difficulty begins and ends in the village of See im Paznauntal at 1,260 metres above sea level and takes around seven hours to complete. The route leads past a waterfall and plenty of lush meadows up to the Versingalpe (1,937 metres) hut, where we recommend a stop for a hearty snack. After moving on to the next hut, the Medrigalm (1,850 metres), you can either take the Medrigjochbahn cable car back down or complete the return journey on foot. Hikers intending on completing the whole route on foot need good overall fitness and sure-footedness.

Trail description
Starting from the cable car station in See, this hike leads up to the parish church and on to the hamlet of Schaller. Turn right there and follow the forest road. After just 120 vertical metres of uphill you will reach a thundering waterfall. Continue along the forest track until you reach a crossroads. Turn left along the forest path to the Schallerbach stream, where the path winds above the stream to the Medrigalm hut and continues in an easterly and northerly direction to the Versingalpe hut. Return via the Medrigalm hut, where the hike can be shortened by taking the Medrigjochbahn cable car to See. Hikers who opt for the footpath head south to the Istalanzbach stream and hike above the stream in switchbacks down to See.
