This hike of intermediate difficulty leads through the beautiful Weitental Valley, with its rich alpine flora and thundering Schleierwasserfall waterfall, into the Tux Alps. The adventure begins with a cable car ride from the village of Hintertux up to the Sommerbergalm, making the walk to the Tuxer Joch ridge significantly shorter. En route hikers will pass the Tuxerjochhaus, a traditional alpine refuge serving hearty food and drink.

Trail description
The hike begins at the top of section one of the cable car. Take the trail ("AV-Weg 324") to the Tuxerjochhaus at 2,313 metres, where you can stop for a rest. We then recommend a small detour to the reservoir slightly above the Tuxerjochhaus. Return back down to the Tuxerjochhaus. From there, continue the descent through the Weitental Valley on trail "AV-Weg 326". After a few kilometres, switch to trail 17 (which includes sections with a steel rope to hold onto for safety) and follow this trail past the Schleierwasserfall waterfall and the Bichlalm hut back to the bottom of the cable cars in Hintertux.
