Hikers wishing to enoy the fine food and breathtaking views at the Ice Q restaurant at 3,048 metres above sea level have to work up an appetite first! After taking the cable car up into the mountains, foodies are invited to complete a steep loop to the Gaislacher See lake with its shimmering blue water. Take time to enjoy the view and check out the futuristic glass building of the Ice Q which featured in the James Bond blockbuster "Spectre" before settling down for a fine meal overlooking countless peaks stretching 3,000 metres and more into the sky. Maître de cuisine Klaus Holzer is praised in the highest terms by award-winning chef Alexander Fankhauser, who himself runs the famous "Alexander" restaurant in the Zillertal Valley. "The food here really is fantastic," says Fankhauser. A meal at the Ice Q is also a good opportunity to check out the James Bond adventure world "007 Elements".

Trail description
From Sölden, take the cable car up onto the Gaislachkogel mountain. The hike itself starts here and initially leads past our final destination, the Ice Q restaurant, in a southeasterly direction slightly downhill. After less than 200 metres the path heads further left and becomes significantly steeper. Hikers continue over stoney, rough terrain to the Gaislacher See, one of the most beautiful lakes at the end of the Ötztal Valley.
Follow the same route back to the Ice Q restaurant.
