With its little copse of alpine cabins, the Feldalm looks just like an alpine farm would have done half a century ago. Nevertheless, time has not stood still here: Feldalm is one of the few organically certified community farms in Tirol. It processes the milk from around 70 cows, some of which belong to the family of Heinz Gstir, a famous Tyrolean organic pioneer and founder of the "Bio vom Berg” brand. This traditionally run alpine farm does not serve food, but if you ask nicely, the farmer might give you a glass of organic buttermilk. The excellent organic "Almkäse" cheese is available to buy from the Hatzenstädt organic dairy in Niederndorferberg (Gränzing 22).
