Trail description
This hike begins in Pertisau at the toll booth of the road leading into the Karwendel Valleys. Pass this toll booth and head towards Gerntal and Falzthurntal. At the fork in the path, take the path into the Gerntal valley, then turn left onto a forest path that leads up the eastern slope of the Feilkopf mountain to the Feilalm hut. At the point where the trail joins an alpine path (the dirt road to the Gütenbergalm), take the right fork, turn left again at the next fork and you will soon reach the Feilalm hut (food & drink served). From the hut to the top of the Feilkopf mountain there are still around 200 vertical metres of climbing to complete. The view at the top is, however, a rich reward for all that effort and present a wonderful panorama of Lake Achensee. Take a few moments to enjoy the spectacular vista before taking the trail down the western ridge to the Gütenbergalm hut (1,550 metres). From here, take the same route you used to climb up - including a shortcut south of the Feilkopf - back to the starting point in Pertisau.
