Mountain biking is only permitted on forest roads between 1 April and 1 October where it is expressly permitted - usually on designated mountain bike trails. These authorised routes are well signposted and encourage you to stay on them. In addition to the signposted enduro trails, there are also high-quality bike parks and a well-developed trail network that can be easily reached by mountain railway, which also transports bikes. Mountain bikers have over 5,000 kilometres of officially approved routes at their disposal. There is a general ban on riding in the winter months.
