This challenging mountain bike ride starting in Thunbichl near Kössen leads up to the Bärenhütte hut at 1,480 metres above sea level. Riders can look forward to wonderful views of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, the Walchsee lake, the Inn Valley, the Geigelstein mountain and the Achental Valley as well as the craggy summits of the Leogang Rocky Mountains. After more than 900 vertical metres of climbing, riders reach the Bärenhütte hut serving hearty food. Those with enough energy left can continue riding up to the Gipfelhaus Unterberghorn at 1,690 metres above sea level.

Leaving from the car park of the Unterbergbahnen cable car in Kössen (Thurnbichl), the ride starts with a steep forest section followed by a gentler ascent through meadows up to the Scheibenwaldhütte hut (1,150 metres). That is then followed by a mixture of steep and flat sections up to the Unterbergalm. The route varies between moderately steep and very steep up to the Bärenhütte hut.
