Trail description
This mountain bike ride starts next to the Zillertal High Mountain Road in Hochschwendberg and leads up to the Rastkogelhütte. Take trail 420 to the Schafleitenalm hut and the on to the Sidanalm hut. From there, things get steeper as the route winds its way up to the Rastkogelhütte. Fit riders with good bike-handling skills can continue up onto the Sidanjoch ridge (2,127 metres). This ridge lies at almost exactly the same altitude as the hut, but the trail which leads up onto it is relatively narrow. Leaving the Rastkogelhütte, take the upper, left-hand trail (beware of hikers using the same trail) and head back to the starting point. The ride can also be completed in the opposite direction.
