It starts in Navis and leads past several huts, including the Naviser Hütte, Stöcklalm, Klammalm and Peeralm, meaning there are plenty of opportunities to stop off for a drink and a snack. Riders can also look forward to fine views of the Wipptal Valley and the Stubai Alps. In Navis, don't forget to stop off at the Haus Hörtnagl selling homemade schnapps and other local produce. Trail description
The ride begins at the Schranzberg car park. Follow the Navisbach stream 1.1 kilometres east of the centre of Navis. Directly at the car park, take Route 520 in a northerly direction along the Klammach stream until you reach a bridge crossing the stream. On the other side, the trail first leads downhill for a bit, past the Grüner Mühle mill and then uphill again. Shortly before the Liesenhof guesthouse, take a sharp right and follow the alpine path to the Peeralm hut. Take a break there or continue cycling. Always following the alpine path, pass the Tischleralm hut (closed), cross the stream again and cycle up the southern side of the valley in a series of switchback corners. At a fork in the forest, continue straight ahead to the Klammalm hut. This is another good place to stop for a drink and a snack. Then turn around again, cycle to the fork and turn left. After a while, a short path branches off to the left to the Poltenalm hut. The lower alpine path continues to the architecturally striking Naviser Hütte hut and the Stöcklalm hut about 750 metres behind it. Once there, turn around again, roll past the Naviser Hütte and then take several hairpin bends downhill to the car park.
