This mountain bike ride offers fabulous views and a few challenging sections as it leads through the area on the Austrian-Italian border. Riders will be able to look out over the Reschensee lake and can even take a dip in the idyllic Grünsee lake. Further highlights en route include the Schwarzsee lake and Naudersberg Castle. Trail description
The ride begins in the Doktor-Tschiggfrey-Straße in Nauders and leads for around seven kilometres along the tarmac road to the Reschensee lake, passing the Bergkastel and Fuhrmannsloch ski lifts. After crossing over into Italy, continue up onto the Reschen Pass and, just before you reach the village of Reschen, turn right. Here the road merges with a forest trail that leads via Vallierteck towards the Rescher Alm hut at 2,000 metres above sea level. After passing the Rescher Alm hut, stay right and ride towards the Austrian border east of the Piz Lat. After 3.5 kilometres you will be able to see the Grünsee lake. Stay right again and ride past the Schwarzsee in an easterly direction. From here, the route leads downhill to the Tiefhof farmstead and then along a challenging downhill trail back to Nauders.
