This ride starting from Ischgl in the Paznaun Valley climbs 1,300 vertical metres up onto the Flimjoch ridge. With a little extra battery boost, riders will make fast progress through the quiet and idyllic Fimbatal Valley to the mid-way station of the Silvrettabahn cable car. It is here that the steep section to the Idalp and the reservoir within the ski resort begins. After a short rest and a final gravel section riders finally reach the top – the Flimjoch ridge on the Swiss border. All that remains to do is park your bike and enjoy the fantastic views of the Samnaun Mountains.

Trail description
The ride begins in Ischgl, next to the bottom station of the Silvrettabahn cable car. Head south and left onto the Dorfstraße road. Follow routes 7075 and 7074 pas the Sankt Nikolaus Kirche church and then head right onto the Eggerweg road. At the Stöcklwaldweg crossroads, stay left and follow the "Fimbaweg" into the Fimbatal Valley. Route 7090 begins there around 2 kilometres south of Ischgl at the mid-way station of the Silvrettabahn cable car. Before reaching the Galluskapelle chapel, turn left, wind your way up along a series of switchback corners for about 1.6 kilometres to the Pardatschgratbahn cable car and then on in a southerly direction. Cross the ski resort of Ischgl and continue for 430 vertical metres uphill, past the reservoir, to the Idalp at the top of the Silvrettabahn and Fimbabahn cable cars at 2,300 metres above sea level. Now take route 7090 between the Restaurant Alpenhaus and the Idalp-Panoramarestaurant below the Pardatscher Grat ridge uphill. After passing the Sonnenbahn and Nachtweidebahn cable cars at 2,440 metres there are just a few more metres to the Velill reservoir. From there, head south and, after 1.5 kilometres, get ready for the final steep section up onto the Flimjoch ridge on the Swiss border. Up here, at 2,750 metres above sea level, you have reached the highest point of the ride next to the top of the Flimjochbahn cable car. Return along the same route.
