With its 266 mountains over 3,000 metres, it is no wonder that East Tirol is popular with hikers and mountaineers. In recent years, however, this region with its 500 kilometres of signposted bike trails has also gained a reputation as one of the top trailriding destinations in the Alps. The latest addition to the Bikepark Lienz is the Flow Family Trail. As the name suggests, this trail has been designed with families and beginners in mind. Packed with cruisy corners, small jumps, wooden bridges and a few fun rollers (all of which can be ridden around), it is the ideal introduction to the world of trailriding. The trail is rated S1 (easy).

Trail description
Take the Schlossbergbahn cable car from Lienz up to the Gasthof Moosalm at 1,000 metres above sea level. If you prefer to ride up instead of taking the cable car, use mountain bike route 121 ("Hochsteinrunde"). 300 metres after passing the Schloss Bruck castle a trail branches off right into the forest heading uphill. At the crossroads marked "Taxer Gasl" continue towards the Gasthof Moosalm.
Next to the Gasthof Moosalm you will find a wooden sign pointing you towards the start of the trail. Cruise and flow are the name of the game from start to finish, as riders wind their way four kilometres along gravel trails dropping 340 vertical metres all the way to the bottom of the Schlossbergbahn cable car. Highlights include perfectly shaped berms, tables, jumps and rollers. Advanced and expert riders can let is roll and pick up some serious speed through the banked corners, while beginners can take things at heir own pace. There is always the opportunity to ride around the jumps, tables, etc.
Tip! The Bikepark Lienz has four singletrack trails, while the Bikepark Großglockner Resort also offers exellent trailriding at the foot of Austria's highest mountain, the Großglockner. East Tirol also has a third bike park, the Trial Bike Park Ainet, where trial bikers can perfect their skills.
