Trail description
The Flimjoch Trail can be accessed using the Flimjochbahn cable car from the Ischgler Idalp. At the top station of the cable car, riders should stay left and keep their eyes open for a sign marking the start of the trail.
The first section is fun and flowy with plenty of corners and rollers. The trail winds its way down along the gravel-covered ski piste all the way to the avalanche protection barriers on the left-hand side of the piste.
Here the trail becomes steeper and more rocky for a short section. Riders pass between large rocks and complete a series of tight turns taking them back to the ski piste. Here, once again, there are lots of banked corners and rollers.
After crossing a wider forest road, the trail continues left past an avalanche protection (follow the signs) and across a wooden bridge. Here that the earth becomes a bit looser, but there are nevertheless plenty of opportunities to pick up speed.
Riders then cross the forest road once again and swoop down through a series of berms, rollers and corners. There is even a small tabletop for those in search of a little airtime. The trail becomes faster here and enters an area of open meadowland. After crossing over a small bridge all that is left is a fast run down to the Bergrestaurant Idalp (2,320m) marking the end of the trail.
Tip! Adrenaline junkies can try the "Skyfly" at the mid-way station of the Silvrettabahn cable car, a mountain zipwire reaching speeds of 84km/h!
