Family ride – Windau – Käsealm Straubing hut

The starting point of the tour is the tourism office in Hopfgarten. Cross the underpass leading under the railway track and follow the Brixental-Bundesstraße road towards Kitzbühel. At the railway underpass in Hopfgarten, where the road begins steepen and lead into the forest, turn right at the power plant and ride into the Windautal Valley as far as the Gasthof Lendwirt (690 metres altitude). Then cross the bridge and follow the  signs marked “Straubing” into the valley until you reach the Käsealm Straubing hut (797 metres altitude). After the buildings continue along a flat section before the descent begins into the Windautal Valley towards the Gasthof Jägerhäusl and the Gasthof Lendwirt.
This intermediate ride takes between 2 and 4 hours and covers 18.7 kilometres and 256 vertical metres.
