Family ride – Aschau – Unterer Grund

The starting point of this route is the tourism office in Kirchberg. Turn right onto the roundabout and take the exit to Aschau. From there, continue along the main road for a short while. Before crossing the Aschauer Ache river you will come to a walking and cycle trail following the river. This trail leads through forests and meadows as far as Aschau. To prevent going the long way around, stay on the main road for the last few metres before reaching Aschau. In the Spertental conservation area the ride continues slightly uphill along the river and past mountain meadows.

Those who want to stop off for drink and a snack have to negotiate a steep ascent to the Gasthof Labalm (1,244 metres altitude) and continue along a well-maintained gravel road to the Stallbach Grundalm (1,333 metres altitude).

After more or less 15 kilometres you will have covered 550 vertical metres and have a wonderful and long ride down the valley ahead of you.
