Trail description
The Mutzkopfbahn two-man chairlift in Nauders transports riders up onto the mountain. Alternatively, there is the option of riding up via a road through the forest. The ascent of around 400 vertical metres takes about an hour.
At the top there is a wooden church spire with a sign showing the way to the trail. In fact, such wooden church spires are used to indicate the start of every trail in the 3 Countries Enduro Trails network.
Follow the signs for the first few metres to the forest road. Then turn right to the mountain restaurant. The 2km trail starts behind the restaurant and descends around 450 vertical metres down switchbacks, root sections, rock drop-offs, gravel and berms. The line choice is often very direct, meaning riders must deal with steep sections and some tricky traverses. At the bottom the trail merges into the Green Trail (S2) and leads along a dusy and rocky section to the road taking riders back to the chairlift.
The Green Trail is part of the 3 Countries Enduro Trails, a network of trails in the border region near the Reschenpass mountain pass where Austria, Italy and Switzerland meet. This network comprises four cable cars and 21 trails. For more information about the 3 Countries Enduro Trails visit www.nauders.com.
Tip! The 3 Countries Summercard Gold offers riders in this region the chance to use all the lifts and trails. It is available from local tourism offices.
