Starting from the village of Kappl in the Paznauntal Valley, at the foot of the Hoher Riffler mountain, this mountain bike ride leads through thin forest up to the Durrichalpe pastures with their beautiful wooden huts. Up here at an altitude of 1,840 metres there are fabulous views of the Paznauntal Valley and the Samnaun Mountains. This 13-kilometre-long ride is mainly on wide forest trails and does not post any major difficulties. However, riders should take enough food and drink with them - the only restaurants and guesthouses are at the starting point in Kappl.

Trail description
Leaving from Kappl, ride in an easterly direction following route 7091 through the settlements of Obermühl and Hof. In Hof, turn left at the bus stop and continue uphill for around one kilometre on the tarmac road towards Oberhaus. Then turn right onto the dirt road leading to Durrichalpe. The road winds its way up via a number of switchback corners through the Sattelwald forest to Durrichalpe with its pretty wooden huts. Cross over the Blankabach stream and then head back down into the valley. After around one kilometre, keep right at the point where the trails cross and take the many switchback corners down through the Perpaterwald forest. Then head right, through the settlements of Perpat and Unterbichl, back to Hof and eventually back to the starting point in Kappl.
