For many years downhillers who wanted to follow in the tyre tracks of their favourite Crankworx stars had to make the long trip to Canada to make their dream a reality. That all changed in the summer of 2017 when Innsbruck became the fourth stop on the Crankworx World Tour. The downhill discipline of this MTB extravaganza took place on the Singletrail „The Rough one“ in the Bikepark Innsbruck. Droping 400 vertical metres from start to finish, this natural trail features everything that makes downhill mountainbiking so addictive: root sections, forest terrain, fast passages, rock gardens and spectacular jumps as well as some sick Northshore features. It is rated between S2 and S3, meaning that riders should be experienced and have both good fitness and bike-handling skills.

Trail description
The adventure starts in the village of Götzens, where the Nockspitzbahn cable car transports riders and their bikes up to the mid-way station at 1314 metres above sea level. To reach the start of the trail itself riders must cross a ski piste. The start platform is clearly visible. The first section leads through a forest and has lots of loose terrain with some roots and small jumps. After crossing over a forest road, the trail enters a more dense forest with trees closer together. This section is more technical than the initial section and requires good bike-handling skills and in particular a good level of fitness.
The second main section is above all fast and furious. Riders speed through meadows and open forests, rock gardens and wood constructions. Adrenaline junkies can get some serious airtime on the jump, while those who wish to can ride around this imposing obstacle. With the end of the trail already in sight, there is no let-up in the action with a series of off-camber switchbacks down the final section of piste. After around two kilometres of pure downhill fun riders reach the end of the trail at the bottom of the lift in Götzens.
There is a restaurant at the bottom of the lift serving food and drinks as well as the Iglubar at the mid-way station. Both are very biker friendly and have big burgers on the menu.
Tip! This trail can be combined with the Auerhahn Trail Götzens lässt, which adds an extra 500 vertical metres of riding. The Auerhahn Trail Götzens begins at the top of the Nockspitzbahn cable car and ends at the mid-way station.
