A Fun-Filled Yuletide for all the Family

During Innsbruck Mountain Christmas, the historic, cobbled old town lanes will be transformed into Fairytale Land. 28 favorite fairytale figures are brought to life in a series of stunning displays, along with live storytelling. The Christmas Bazaar on Market Square comes complete with a nostalgia carousel, puppet theaters and all the sights and sounds of the season. Saint Nicolas will visit Innsbruck’s lovely old town on December 05, 2019, and the grand Christkind Parade featuring over 500 kids dressed up as shepherds and angels will take place on December 22, 2019.

Little ones can share in the magic of Christmas as storytellers take you to discover excitement, mystery and music at the Hall Advent Market. Another highlight for kids is the popular petting zoo where little ones can ride through the historic lanes and alleys on the back of friendly ponies. One special event is the arrival of St Nicholas and his entourage on December 06, 2019, bringing sweet gifts to the well-behaved little girls and boys in the Old Town of Hall.

There’s a lot for visitors of all ages to enjoy this Christmas at Rattenberg Advent, including extra-special opportunities for children to take part in seasonal activity programs on Saturdays from 2:30pm to 6:00pm: there will be gingerbread decorating and even glassblowing. By 5:00pm, a truly unique light parade will commence, with candles and torches forming an impressive maze of lights on the main stage, complete with a sophisticated program of seasonal music. Creating memories that will stay with you and your kids forever!

Give your children a day they’ll never forget at the Kufstein Christmas Market: Favorite activities on offer include carousel rides, pony riding and miniature train journeys. Undisputed highlight is the campfire twist bread—yeast dough is rolled into a long sausage shape, twisted over the end of a stick, and baked over an open fire. What’s more, there will be magical gleaming forms and unique storytelling by the so-called “Mountain Taleteller”.  Saint Nicolas will visit Kufstein’s Christmas Market on December 05, 2019.

The Lienz Advent Market offers visitors from December 16 to 20 the unique opportunity to find the true sense of Christmas without the hustle and bustle of shopping malls, tinsel, and hectic schedules. In the living workshop, little ones can watch skilled craftsmen and artists. And in the children’s bakery, it’s all about baking delicious cookies and mouth-watering gingerbread delights.

Children visiting the St. Johann Christmas Market can learn all about traditional advent customs dating back centuries from friendly helpers Jeanette and Sonja. In Michi's Eck'n they can get creative and make their own Christmas decorations for the tree at home, while on Sunday afternoons there is the chance to make tasty biscuits. Last but not least, on 5 December at 18:30 there is a St Nicolas parade for children and their parents (market is closed on this day).

The tradition of Saint Nicholas coming to visit children who have been good takes a special twist at Lake Achensee, where the friendly bearded man known in other countries as "Santa Claus" arrives by boat on December 07. Indeed, Christmas is a special time of year generally at what is Tirol's largest lake. Highlights include the "mountain advent" held at the Fischergut in Pertisau, where children can write letters to Father Christmas, decorate gingerbread biscuits and even have a go at pony-riding.
 

There's lots to see, do, hear and discover at the Kitzbühel Christmas Market, from advent stories told at the local history museum to a petting zoo where children can have a go at pony-riding. Don't forget, on 6 December there is a traditional Saint Nicholas parade with presents for children.

While parents browse the traditional stands selling all manner of fine craftswork, parents can ride a horse-drawn sleigh through the snowy village or post a letter to Santa at the Angels' Post Office. The Christmas and advent market in the heart of pretty Seefeld's car-free pedestrianised zone offers everything from a cosy baking area where visitors can make their own biscuits and cookies to the weird and wild Krampus processions traditional in Tirol in early December. Every Sunday there is a brass band concert at 5:00pm.
