This June, the Tschirgant Sky Run will return for the fourth year in a row. The trail running event offers four courses for all tastes and abilities, held on some of the most scenic trail networks in the country.
The iconic 2,370-meter summit of Tschirgant towers high above Inntal and Gurgltal Valleys. The small town of Imst is located on the mountain’s western foot and this is where the Tschirgant Sky Run starts. This amazing trail run hit the race calendar for the first time in 2021 and it was an instant success! The 4th edition is back for another round of trail running action in June 2024. The longest of the courses, the 52K Ultra Run (TS52) includes a nasty 3,500 vertical meters. This challenging course is a trail runner’s dream and its location along the 11-kilometer-long ridge of the Tschirgant has some of the most beautiful and remote-feeling terrain—and those stunning views! The TS26 (26K, 1,900 vertical meters) offers a mixture of winding single-track trails across Alpine terrain. The 42K and 16K courses (TS42 und TS16) are fun and run across terrain that is easier to tackle.
New this year is the Rosengarten Night Race, which will take place one day earlier, on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 7:30pm. Rosengarten, literally Rose Garden, is a narrow chasm, incised into the rock by the cascading waters of Schinderbach Creek. The scenic, 2-kilometer long trail across the canyon is edged by Schinderbach Creek’s frothing white torrents and takes you from Imst up to Hochimst via a delightful series of beautiful wooden boardwalks and stone steps, mastering 250 vertical meters. On Sunday, June 16, 2024, there will be a Sumsi Kids’ Run at 2:00pm.
