Delicious fare and loads of information on livestock breeding along with a farmer’s market and live music will be on the line at the Yearling Fest, this year held in Lienz in East Tirol.
Revolving around sustainable agriculture, the festival is chocked full of activities for all age groups. This year’s Yearling Fest is kicked-off in Lienz, East Tirol, on October 08, 2023, at 10:00am at Agricultural School. Visitors will learn all about Tiroler yearlings, the star of this fest. Culinary delicacies, live music, and activities for kids round out the festival fun. Mother cows and yearlings are available for public viewing at the farm grounds. Visitors are encouraged to walk through and learn about the cattle. There will be a yearling trivia game with great prizes to win.
Yearlings are calves that still drink from their mothers, giving the yearling calf a real good nutritional start to its life. This is a sustainable and more natural way of weaning. Young, tender beef is delicious and available for purchase on premises.
