Starting December 1, the tiny hamlet of Plangeross is transformed into a unique, living Advent Calendar. Each evening, a lovingly Christmas-theme decorated window is opened in a home and the family living there welcomes visitors with homemade specialties. It’s a wonderful opportunity to mix and mingle with locals.
The atmospheric Advent Market in Plangeross on Fridays, pre-Christmas Sunday church services with choirs and bands, weekly contemplative forest walks, guided snowshoe walks, night sledding and Austria’s highest-lying Christkindl Post Office at Café 3.440 on Pitztal Glacier are all a part of the valley’s amazing seasonal events.
