Celebrations are underway for the 750th Anniversary of the Town of Kitzbühel, marked by four full weeks of activities and events, including exhibitions, concerts and a special theater play.
Kitzbühel received its town charter by Duke Ludwig II of Bavaria on June 06, 1271. Until today, visitors come from all over the world to discover the unique medieval charm of this historic small town. The activities and events to celebrate the 750th anniversary of town formation were impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic and had to be postponed to the year 2022.

At Kitzbühel Museum
Located at Hinterstadt 30 in Kitzbühel, the Municipial Museum is honored to showcase Kitzbühel-related works by eleven artists until April 16, 2022. On display are paintings, sculptures and photographies by Matthias Bernhard, Wolfgang Capellari, Flora Zimmeter, Werner Kaligofsky, Maximilian Bernhard, Stefan Klampfer, Michael Höpfner, Sophie Gogl, Georg Dienz, Florian Nährer and Florian Neumayr.

Aufschnaiter – A Musical Documentary Drama
Kitzbühel-native and musician Johannes Gasteiger succeeded in working out a special play together with composer Christof Dienz, author Christoph W. Bauer and director Thomas Gassner. The play will premiere on April 01, with follow-up performances on April 02 and 03, 2022 at the Festivity Hall of Kitzbühel Music Academy. Tickets are available from all Sparkasse Banks in Kitzbühel, from Kitzbühel Tourism and from oeticket.
