Recognized as a premiere forum for young filmmakers and influential actors, the Kitzbühel Film Festival engages audiences with remarkable cinematic experiences each year in August.
The mission of the Kitzbühel Film Festival (FFKB) is to support and promote “young” and upcoming filmmakers and visionary producers through the advancement of quality film arts, and to provide the best audience experience possible. The festival has grown tremendously since its first edition in August 2013.
In its ten-year history, many filmmakers and artists have exhibited early work at the FFKB and influential actors have visited, including Marie Bäumer, Mario Adorf, Ben Becker, Sunnyi Melles and Tobias Moretti. Each year’s festival engages audiences with remarkable cinematic experiences at primary venues—from outdoor screenings atop Kitzbühel Horn Peak over a drive-in cinema to the outdoor movie theater in town that was founded in 2018.
From August 21 to 27, 2023, the 11th Kitzbühel Film Festival presents 50 films from different countries of all lengths and genres, including experimental, animation, documentary, fiction, and performance-based works.
