The Golden Roof Challenge enjoys cult status in athletics circles. International top athletes will come to Tirol’s capital Innsbruck for this annual event, which is now part of the World-Athletics-Continental-Tour (WACT).
The organisers of the International Golden Roof Challenge have been bringing this highly acclaimed athletics event to Tirol’s capital Innsbruck for 20 years. On May 18, 2024, international world-class athletes will once again come to Innsbruck to compete for their chance at glory in the pole vault and long jump, towered by St. Anna’s Column on Maria-Theresien-Street and cheered on by spectators.
Now in its 20th year, the unique Golden Roof Challenge is part of the Golden Fly Series, an event that is also held in other cities around the globe in 2024, including Chiang Mai in Thailand. All the competitions will be carried out on the largest mobile athletics facility in the world, the ‘FlySwat™’. The FlySwat™ is a unique multi-purpose facility for pole vault, long jump and sprint events. It has a total length of 83 meters. Competition starts at 6:30pm. To promote young talent, the Kids Cup long jump and the Euregio School Games will take place as part of the 20th Golden Roof Challenge, starting at 2:00pm. Moreover, the Golden Roof Challenge is as well part of the World-Athletics-Continental-Tour (WACT).
