In late March, Galtür plays host to the fourth cross country ski series of events named Nordic Volumes, combining the popular Nordic Spring Race with the new Cross Country Climb and a free XC Camp with tuition and demos of the latest gear.
The fourth Galtür Nordic Volumes event kicks-off on March 27, 2025, with the popular Nordic Spring Race. The skating sprint through this quaint village at the end of Paznaun Valley is one of the highlights of the ski season. Cheered up by spectators, amateur skate skiers compete against the clock and themselves – and will rub shoulders with pro skiers.
The event continues Saturday, March 28, 2025, with the Kids & Juniors Races. The undisputed highlight of this series of events, the Cross Country Climb, will take place on Sunday. The competition is open to all and is part of the Austria Cup. The course takes Nordic skiers from Galtür across Vermunt toward Bielerhöhe with the loop bringing them back to Galtür. Two different courses are offered: the 25-kilometer “Light” course and the 42-kilometer “Hard” course.
