Each September, Gasteig celebrates the cattle drive from Obingalm with a massive festival, complete with live music, an exhibition of vintage tractors and tons of fun activities for little ones.
On September 09, 2023, visitors can see the cows up close in their beautiful headdresses as they return from the Alpine summer grazing pastures and parade through Habach (11:30am) and Kirchdorf (12:00noon) on their way to Kramerhof Farm in the hamlet of Gasteig, where the herd is expected to arrive by 1:30pm. Live music by “Schlossberger” band can be heard across the place and the mood will be festive from 11:30am onwards. By noon, the vintage tractors will arrive. A farmers’ market is held on both days and craft demonstrations will be happening. Plus, there will be tons of fun activities for little ones.
