The 73rd Tour of Austria is the country’s biggest and most prestigious cycling event, featuring riders from the world’s best teams. Day four and five will take competitors through Tirol – and atop steep Kühtai Saddle.
Crossing the whole of Austria in early July 2024, the 73rd Tour of Austria is broken into five day-long segments, called stages. The country’s biggest and most prestigious cycling event starts on July 02, 2024 with a Prologue in St. Pölten, in the Province of Lower Austria. On day four, the Tour is heading into Tirol with the route taking riders from St. Johann Alpendorf (Province of Salzburg) to Kals am Großglockner in East Tirol. On the fifth day, July 07, 2024, the overall victory will be battled out on the final stage from Kufstein along Innsbruck to Sellrain. The last few kilometers to the finish in Kühtai, at an elevation of 2,000 meters above sea level, will be the toughest day of racing this year, tackling a nasty elevation gain of 1,400 vertical meters.
