For lovers of jazz, the name Take Five is synonymous with Dave Brubeck's legendary Evergreen and its unusual 5/4 rythmn. In Georg and Brigitte Profer's shop New Take Five, there isn't an LP or CD in sight. Here, fashion not music is the name of the game.
Located in the pretty Rosengasse in the centre of Lienz, New Take Five stocks a wide range of international fashion labels that bring the flair of the Paris Fashion Week to East Tirol. And, just as at the world's most famous fashion show, there are more than a few eye-catching ideas on show.
Weird and wonderful
In contrast to the sometimes weird and wonderful clothing on offer, the boutique itself is simple and elegant. It stocks a mixture of men's and women's streetwear for young urbanites (and those who are young at heart) open to new ideas. Dedicated followers of fashion in search of a straight-laced, conservative look probably won't find what they are looking for here.
Labels featured include Golden Goose, with its fusion of classic vintage with leather and studs, and the up-and-coming American-Chinese designer Phillip Lim. Of course, no outfit would be complete without the right accessories, with New Take Five one of the few places in Tirol offering the elegant jewellery produced by Werkstatt:München from Germany.
