The charming village of Natters in the Mittelgebirge mountains to the south of Innsbruck has its own lake of the same name, Lake Natterer See, which is popular in summer thanks to its beautiful surroundings and proximity to the regional capital.
Mountains, meadows, forests – the area around the Natterer See, a moorland lake with very clean water which reaches 25°C in summer, has everything you would expect to find in Tirol. Accommodation is available next to the lake in the form of an award-winning campsite with modern facilities and plenty of activities for families.
Swimming, of course, is the number one watersport at the Natterer See, while other attractions include water polo, water volleyball, canoeing and windsurfing and the famous Happy Swing, a huge 66m long slide into the water. The sporting theme continues on dry land with trampolines, table tennis, beach volleyball, tennis, badminton, streetball, boccia as well as a shooting range for crossbow, bow & arrow and air rifle.
Hungry after all that action? Then stop off at the snack shop or lakeside restaurant with a bar, pizzeria and take away service offering regional delicacies and international dishes served in cosy surroundings or outdoors on the large terrace or in one of the romantic lakeside pavilions.
