Lake Urisee is a small lake near Mühl in Reutte. Untouched nature and thick forest make it a popular destination for visitors in summer.
There are several grassy areas ideal for sunbathing as well as a number of walkways out onto the water where visitors can dangle their feet in the turquoise water as they admire the beautiful surroundings. In summer the water temperature reaches up to 23°C – perfect for a refreshing swim to relax and rejuvenate tired muscles after a long walk. When autumn arrives the water, which is up to 38 metres deep in places, quickly cools off.
The lake’s depth and its good underwater visibility of between 7 and 20 metres also draw many scuba divers keen to explore the bizarre rock formations and algae-covered trees below the surface. There are five diving platforms provided for scuba diving courses.
Due to the fact that the lake has neither an inlet nor an outlet, the water level in the Urisee varies by up to four metres. One thing that does not vary is the admission price: access to the lake is free of charge all year round.
