From a mountain treasure hunt and downhill go-karting in summer to snowboarding and sledding in winter, the Muttereralm resort high above Innsbruck offers an extensive array of outdoor adventures and activities all year round.
The Muttereralmpark really does have something for everyone. Perched at 1,600 metres above sea level, it offers wonderful views of Innsbruck and the Karwendel Mountains. During the warm months of the year, many locals come up here to walk the "Panoramaweg" trail to the reservoir, pan for gold at the adventure playground, play in the huge water-themed fun park and embark on a treasure hunt across the mountain. Highlights also include lots of family-friendly walking and hiking trails as well as downhill mountainbike trails ("The Chainless One") suitable for kids plus yoga in the mountains. And after all that fun, what better way to round off a great day than with a ride on a mountain kart – a special three-wheeled vehicle which can be ridden down the mountain on a five-kilometre track closed to walkers and mountain bikers.
And in winter? The Muttereralm is perfect for families with its network of easy and intermediate ski pistes as well as a funpark and a 4.7-kilometre-long toboggan run. Ski tourers keen to head off piste will find plenty of open terrain in and around the resort.
