Make your way on the old Miner’s Trail for a historical feel! Relive ore mining history and explore the scenic mountains and streams on this outstanding discovery trail that travels some 2,000 meters above sea level. The ore mine was in operation some 350 years ago. Several old mine structures and mine openings are found here. Undisputed highlight is the originally reconstructed 17th century miner’s home with museum and shelter for hikers. To reach the trailhead you can depart from Oetz – Hochoetz, Ochsengarten, Mareil and Kühtai. There are eight different routes, which can be hiked in sections as well. The most family-friendly walk has its trailhead at Isserbrücke Car Park and takes some two hours to complete. The mountainous scenic area is especially noted for its unspoilt vegetation of pine woods and rare Alpines. Lucky ones might even get the chance to spot chamois, marmots and Nutcrackers.
